Atlantic Dialogue with Constanze Stelzenmüller

The Netherlands Atlantic Association and the Netherlands Atlantic Youth will organize a program with Constanze Stelzenmüller, Senior Fellow at Brookings Institution and an expert on German, European and trans-Atlantic foreign and security policy and strategy, titled:

 

Atlantic Dialogue with Constanze Stelzenmüller (Brookings Institution)

We are honored to announce that Constanze Stelzenmüller will be our guest for Atlantic Dialogue! Constanze Stelzenmüller is an expert on German, European and trans-Atlantic foreign security policy and strategy. At the moment Stelzenmüller works as a Senior Fellow at Brookings Institution. Before working at Brookings, Stelzenmüller was a senior transatlantic fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States. Stelzenmüller, originally born in Germany, has a broad range of areas of expertise, such as German foreign policy, NATO, the European Union’s foreign policy, international law and human rights.

Stelzenmüller has also worked as a journalist for Der Tagesspiegel and Die Zeit. Stelzenmüller often provides expert opinions on subjects relating to German or American politics, which have been published in The Washington Post and The New York Times.

 

Atlantic Dialogue will take place on May 18. You are welcome to submit questions to Stelzenmüller as part of your registration or with an e-mail to info@atlcom.nl. Due to the Dutch Covid-19 measures this program will be livestreamed.

Moderator: Sophie Derkzen

Sophie Derkzen is a journalist and moderator with a fascination for international politics and culture. She hosts Foreign Desk (VPRO Bureau Buitenland), the daily foreign affairs program at the Dutch national NPO Radio 1. Previously, she worked as a political reporter for Vrij Nederland, as guest editor for Die Zeit and as policy officer at the Political Department of the Dutch Embassy in Berlin.

Atlantic Dialogue

Atlantic Dialogue aims to provide a platform to inspiring guests with a distinguished career in foreign affairs to share their insights with a new generation. Inspired by ‘town hall meetings’ in the United States, participants will play an interactive role at the event. Specifically, the program aims to engage students and young professionals in the age of 18-35 years on the celebration of 75 years of freedom and the importance of trans-Atlantic relations.
