Public Meeting: NATO's eFP in the Baltics: Canadian and Dutch Perspectives

On Wednesday 3 October the Netherlands Atlantic Association organizes a public meeting in the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague themed:

Continuing Commitment to Transatlantic Security:
Canadian and Dutch perspectives on NATO’s eFP in the Baltics

NATO’s deterrence policies in the Baltics are exemplified by Canadian and Dutch military presence in the Baltic states. The enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) member countries signal a level of commitment that is military as well as political. During this meeting, we will take stock of where we stand right now after several rotations have taken place. What are the perspectives for the short and medium term?

Professor Christian Leuprecht teaches at the Royal Military College of Canada, and recently co-published a paper on Canada’s commitment to NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence in Latvia. Major Ruud Lenoir is deputy commander of NATO’s multinational eFP battlegroup in Lithuania. Sabine Nölke is the Canadian Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Lieutenant General (retired) Ton van Loon, an expert through experience on multinational military cooperation, will conduct Leuprecht and Lenoir in a discussion on respectively the Canadian and Dutch perspectives on NATO’s eFP contributions in the Baltic states. Ambassador Nölke will close the evening with some remarks.
