‘You should write TRUST in capital letters’. Dutch-German military integration

Brigadier General Jan Renger Swillens is Commander of 43 Mechanised Brigade of the Royal Netherlands Army. In this article he reflects on the cooperation between the national armies of Germany and the Netherlands. More specifically, the integration of 43 Mechanised Brigade into the 1st Armoured Division of the German Armed Forces is discussed. Jan Renger Swillens elaborates on the origin, scope and future of this military integration between the two neighbours and generally on European military integration.
