The Trump effect on US foreign policy
In light of the 2016 American presidential elections, Roberta Haar looks at what each outcome could mean for US foreign policy. Haar provides a grim outlook in the case of a Donald Trump victory. His neo-isolationist stance and distrust towards multilateral alliances would certainly prove detrimental for European nations. Hillary Clinton on the other hand would be more inclined towards multilateral arrangements such as NATO but her victory would also mean a more interventionist US foreign policy. Whoever wins, US foreign policy will certainly change.
