Special section: “The most successful alliance in history – NATO at 70”

On April 4, NATO celebrated its 70^th anniversary. This special section looks into the alliance’s history, present, and future. What are the most pressing challenges, both from within and externally? What is NATO’s place among the other institutions of the Western world order? With contributions from Stan Sloan (Atlantic Council of the United States), Trine Flockhart (University of Southern Denmark), Roberta Haar (Maastricht University), and Laurien Crump (Utrecht University).
