In this article from 2013, Roberta Haar identifies the sources of mutual mistrust that have arisen between America and its key allies Egypt, Israel and Saudi-Arabia, since the uprisings that are remaking the Middle East. According to Haar, the United States’ relationship with its traditional allies in the Middle East have been negatively impacted by the turmoil caused by the Arab Spring and so far, Obama’s strategies have not been fruitful.
