The growing number of domestic and foreign policy failures have led to a decrease in popularity of President Obama, Matt A. Mayer argues. Nonetheless, Obama’s predecessors, Reagan and Clinton, have shown that an unpopular president can regain popularity. Mayer claims that Obama’s reputation will depend on whether he can change his policies. Doing so will require moving past ‘partisan politics’.
