China’s Relations with Russia Amid the War in Ukraine

Russia’s war in Ukraine has put China in an uncomfortable position. According to Temur Umarov Beijing now has to juggle two incompatible goals in its foreign policy: strategic rapprochement with Russia, on the one hand, and adherence to the principles of territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, on the other.
