Britain and France
On November 2, 2010 London and Paris agreed the Defence and Security Cooperation Treaty. According to Julian Lindley-French the accord is mostly military-technical. It aims to develop cooperation between British and French Armed Forces by means of promoting, sharing and pooling of materials, information, equipment and facilities. This is supposed to improve Europe’s military strategy. Nevertheless, Julian Lindley-French argues that much of European security is a ‘soft’ form of power.
