IKV Pax Christi examined the arguments of NATO member states for and against the withdrawal of American tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) from European soil. This resulted in the Withdrawal Issues report. On the basis of this report, Wilbert van der Zeijden and Susi Snyder (IKV Pax Christi) argue that NATO-countries should take the first steps to withdraw, regardless of what Russia does. Russia will then be able to follow by withdrawing its own TNW's. General withdrawal by all countries concerned will increase security in Europe.
