On 11 September the Netherlands Atlantic Association organised the presentation in the Netherlands of the German Marshall Fund’s
Transatlantic Trends Survey 2009

| Speaker: | Ronald D. Asmus, Executive Director, Brussels Office German Marshall Fund |
For seven years, Transatlantic Trends has measured public opinion in Europe and the United States on various issues affecting the transatlantic relationship. This year the survey will look to see if Barack Obama’s election in 2008 has changed the U.S.’s relationship with Europe. Preliminary data shows some interesting results on how Western and Eastern Europe view the new president of the United States. The survey also covers climate change, the impact of the financial crisis, and foreign policy challenges.
